Storage Tips to Help You Get the Most Out of Your Unit
1. Pack Smart and Label Everything
Label your boxes clearly on multiple sides so you can easily find what you need later. Group similar items together and keep an inventory list if possible.
2. Use Vertical Space
Stack boxes and furniture wisely to maximize your space. Place heavier items on the bottom and lighter ones on top to keep everything stable.
3. Keep Pathways Clear
Leave a small walkway through the center of your unit so you can easily access items in the back without unloading everything in front.
4. Protect Furniture and Fragile Items
Use blankets, towels, or sheets to cover and protect furniture. Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap or place them in sturdy containers with padding.
5. Store Items You’ll Need Often Near the Front
If you’re planning to access certain things regularly—like seasonal decorations, tools, or files—keep them near the front of your unit for easy reach.
6. Disassemble Large Items
Break down tables, bed frames, or shelving units to save space. Keep screws and small parts in labeled bags and tape them to the furniture pieces.
7. Don’t Store Anything Perishable or Hazardous
For everyone’s safety, avoid storing food, flammables, or chemicals. If you’re unsure what’s allowed, just ask our friendly staff—we’re happy to help!
